This is a replacement milepost.

This replacement post was then vandalised and had to be repaired.

The plaque was also vandalised. Sadly it was decided that the replacement for the vandalised plaque would be sited at Fradley Junction for safety (alongside the plaque for the replacement milepost at Fradley Junction). The wording of the new plaque was changed slightly :-

THIS MILEPOST WAS DONATED

became

THE MILEPOST EAST OF HANDSACRE
WAS DONATED
