Cheshire Locks Working Party

The location will probably be Lock 62 at Malkin’s Bank, but do check nearer the time.

Parking info – We are hoping to be allowed to park at the golf club, but please check back later.
 
We will meet as usual at 10-00 a.m. and work through until 3-00 p.m. If you are able to stay all day , please bring a packed lunch and a drink. Be sure to wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and marked with paint. Stout footwear is appropriate and bring along a waterproof in the event of rain.
 
Tony Walker and John Brighouse will lead the work party (Contact Nos. 07708 320470/07808 878317 respectively).  We very much look forward to welcoming as many of you as are able to attend.

HS2 and Brindley

AGM at Stoke Boat Club, Endon ST9 9DU

Refreshments from 10:30, AGM at 11 am

The AGM will be followed with a buffet lunch at 12
and an optional guided walk at 1:30pm.

Please make sure that you let David Clegg (david@thecleggs.co.uk) know by 3rd May if you wish to attend the AGM so that enough food is ordered. It would also be useful if you let him know whether you will be going on the walk.

The guided walk will be led by Alison Smedley. It will start at the Holly Bush Inn, Denford Rd, Leek ST13 7JT [5 minutes drive away]. The walk is about 3 miles taking 2 hours, but is a figure of eight, so passes the start after an hour if you need to leave early.

This walk is based on the Caldon Canal heritage walk on the IWA website . It will be led by Alison Smedley and will include (as a special treat) a look at the remains of the staircase flight of locks that is in her garden [NOT accessible to the public!]
