Milepost 54 / 38 is between Bridges 108 and 108A 

This is an original milepost, which spent some time outside the Longboat Pub in Birmingham before being returned to us.

By 2020 it had been back in its original location for many years. For some reason, it sports a non-standard white top and looks a bit sad for itself. Also the Makers Plate has been very thickly over-painted in white without picking out the name and date in black, and a new building has recently appeared in the field behind it

Sarah Honeysett has repainted this post in August 2025 (accompanied by Sonning the bear). Here are the before and after photographs (photos © Sarah Honeysett). Sarah apologised that she had missed the central black line! I think that she did a magnificent job on the makers plate.
